This is a weekly behind the scenes photo post, showing little snippets from my week in the kitchen.
You never know what you may find…maybe a teaser of a future post, maybe a little nugget or idea, maybe just a little peek into my life and home.
Welcome to My Kitchen
The majority of this week was spent at our cottage. Now that school is out and Little League is done, we like to spend our days at our lakeside cottage about 3 hours north of home.
I really love the vintage cabinetry of our kitchen.
And the old cast sink.
A look from the kitchen window. The cottage hidden behind the tree was my grandmother’s cottage when I was young. The board on posts on the bottom right has been there as long as I can remember, it’s where the neighbor fillets his fish.
You can’t enjoy summers at the cottage without popsicles. This mix was simply banana and cantaloupe (it’s what we had on hand).
If you’re a regular, you know we LOVE our Whirley Pop popcorn. Our new cabin-designated, yard sale popper from Food Yard Sale Finds Round 3 works great.
Popcorn anyone? (my recipe here)
And if you’re a regular, you also know that we love our Mini Meat-loaves. They are quick, easy and relatively inexpensive (my recipe here).
We did return home toward the end of the week specifically for the kids’ last ball games…which ended up being rained out 🙁
Friday I acquired my first set of water kefir grains. Stay tuned to find out how my first batch turned out.
And that concludes this week’s look into my kitchen. I’m happy to have you visit, please come again soon.
