I have now been processing water kefir for a couple of weeks. I think I have finally gotten the routine down to a pretty good system. I have been experimenting with many different flavor options. I started with simply adding juice since it was easiest for starters. Then graduated to adding real fruit and flavor combinations.
So far I have tried pomegranate, grape and lemon juices.
For real fruit I have tried cherry, blueberry and raspberry, many of these mixed with lemon juice.
I have been the primary consumer of the kefir thus far. It has definitely been a welcome addition to tame my soda cravings.
I have been introducing it to the kids gradually. Our son loves the lemonade version.
My mother and grandmother have began taking some off my hands regularly and have enjoyed it.
But what about the hubby who insisted that he was not going to drink that stuff? Well, he has willingly sampled just about every flavor without too much coaxing but he has yet to consume any significant amount. I think he is just being stubborn 😉
I look forward to continuing to experiment with flavorings. While all have been good, I’m still looking for that one that will make me say “WOW, now that is my favorite!” I look forward to sharing that magic recipe with you when it is found.
