While the kids and I were spending time at the cabin (see Enjoying The Back Roads), my mother picked up my CSA box this week. So, I missed out on this week’s market trip.
I arrived home today to find:
Dill. Wow, it smells so good!
Broccoli. We can tear through some broccoli. We all love it.
Peas. Now you already know how much our son loves peas (See We Picked A Peck Of Peas, And Got Them Ready To Freeze). He saw more peas and say “YAY!”
Garlic. To be honest, I’m rather new at using fresh garlic. Prior to a few months ago, I was always a “garlic powder” girl. Shame, I didn’t even know what I was missing 🙁
Onion Blossoms. This one is new to me. The farm suggested using them in salads, omelets or pasta dishes.
Radicchio round “chioggia” type chicory. This one is totally new to me.
Asparagus. We have really been enjoying some asparagus this year. We have always enjoyed it, however, I rarely bought it in the past. I think I would like to try asparagus guacamole with this batch.
And butterhead lettuce.
I’m looking forward to digging into this stash of goodness.
