It was a nice day, a little cool. I was excited to take both kids to the farmer’s market for the first time. We began, our stroll taking in the sights, checking out the goods.
Sampling some strawberry rhubarb sauce.
Collecting our free gift.
It was a fun SHORT, leisurely stroll by a couple booths before my daughter discovered a small local band playing music. She is particularly sensitive to sounds and a bit apprehensive of new environments. This resulted in a pretty unpleasant experience on her part…screaming, crying, pulling and trying to run away. Since I was alone with both kids, without assistant to help calm or distract her, it ended up being a pretty quick trip. We didn’t’ quite get to look around too much, didn’t’ get to purchase anything, but we did quickly pick up our CSA box. It contained:
Two pounds of asparagus
And a bonus of honey
After picking up the box, C found a short moment of peace as she spotted some chicks behind one booth.
And then we were on our way. Next week I’m bringing backup (Grandma) with me.
