Well, it doesn’t happen often, but this week I forgot my camera for my market trip. I usually throw it in the car whenever we head out of the house, just in case. But on this particular day I headed out with my son and grandmother for a day full of shopping and errands and totally forgot.
But I did capture the weekly summary of our CSA box. I was pretty excited about this week. Lots of good stuff!
First of all….blueberries! I will admit, we don’t have fresh blueberries in our home very often, those little buggers are expensive, especially organic. But yes, sometimes I do splurge. They are just to good to live without, especially in pancakes.
Celery. You can always use celery!
Fennel. This is a new one to me.
New potatoes. We go through a lot of potatoes!
Summer squashes. The tasting sample at the market this week was quesadillas stuffed with grilled squash, onions, cheese, etc (no meat). It was great!
Candy onions. This was the very first thing I used this week, chopped to top Tuesday night’s nachos for dinner.
And finally a choice of herb. I chose basil since I seem to use it the most often.
See you back next week, when I will try to remember my camera!
